Further to my previous post on 2 Malden Road, the landlord of the empty unit has written back to me.
The landlord intends to convert the property into flats and is currently seeking planning permission from the council. A formal planning application will be submitted soon, and a consultation with local people will follow.
Empty property is a blight on our area and this particular shop unit has sat empty for years. Many people have told me they hope it can be brought back into use and I’m glad that some action is in the pipeline. If you have any comments or views on this proposal, do let me know.
